BROTHER ROBERT 'KAKI' MCQUEEN

Robert 'Kaki' McQueen is a native Baltimorean, and self-taught
artist. He has devoted much of his life to painting, and spreads
his artwork across the United States, Haiti, & Africa for over
35 years. To him, painting is all about culture and having the work
accessible to all who wish to afford and enjoy it.
Brother Kaki's Artwork which he regards as
"artwork
for the people", represents facets of Black culture (African, West Indian,
Black American).
He employs contemporary painting techniques and media (latex, acrylic, pastels, charcoal and oil based paints).
Brother Kaki's art can be seen at art shows in
Baltimore, Washington, D.C, Philly, New York, Florida (where he is now, doing his art).
He is well known at
Cephas Hot Shop
West
Indian Restaurant, where his art is in inside and outside of the
restaurant in Ybor City (Tampa, Florida).
Brother Kaki feels that his paintings takes him closer to Jah (God), and
hopes that his artwork will inspire similar emotions, while
increasing the cultural awareness to all.
